Orientation in the starry sky made easy

Orientation in the starry sky with the help of classic two-dimensional maps is a real challenge, especially for beginners. With a diameter of just over 24 centimetres, The Star Dome by AstroMedia is a handy instrument for exploring the night sky. When it comes to finding the constellations, the dome-shaped sky map scores points above all for its low-distortion display and helps with important date and time information. If you also pierce the star positions with a needle - preferably in different thicknesses - the result is an amazingly realistic view of the starry sky even during the day when viewed up against the light.

For teachers and pupils

The Star Dome is easy to build and is an excellent teaching material for secondary schools. Like all other astro materials, it can also be used for other group and project work on astronomy and physics.
